Monthly Newsletter- The Maxwell Memo

Welcome to Maxwell

We have many new faces on the Maxwell staff this year. Please welcome the following new Maxwell staff members:

Ms. Pepper is a Third Grade ELA-E teacher. She comes from Johnson Elementary School in DPS.

· Ms. Dersham is one of our Facilitators. She comes from Park Hill Elementary School in DPS.

· Ms. Stahl is one of our Facilitators. She comes from Southmoor Elementary School in DPS.

· Ms. Elizondo will be working in the front office. She is a Maxwell parent.

· Ms. Seitz is our new ECE/Kindergarten teacher. She has recently moved to Denver from Wisconsin.

· Ms. Andrews is a new First Grade ELA-S teacher. She has recently moved to Denver from Ohio.

· Ms. Gibson is a new First Grade ELA-E teacher. She has recently moved to Denver from Texas.

· Ms. Herm is a new First Grade ELA-E. She has recently moved to Denver from Massachusetts.

· Ms. Abernathy is a new special education teacher. She has recently moved to Denver from Colorado Springs, Colo.

· Ms. Harvey is a Third Grade Teacher. She comes from Johnson Elementary School in DPS.

Student Verification Forms

If you have not already done so, please return your child’s Student Verification Forms. These forms are very important and need to be returned as soon as possible. Simply review the information on the forms and if changes need to be made, make the changes on the form, sign and return the forms to your child’s classroom teacher.

Remember, if you are making changes to your address, please send or bring in copies of ONE of the following: your Xcel Energy bill, water bill, lease agreement, or contract on your home. The first classroom to return 100% of their forms will win a pizza party!

Important Dates

· September 3rd~No school, Labor Day

· September 6th~Back to School Night. 6:30-8:00p.m.

· September 7th~ Fundraiser kick off!

· September 7th~ Kindergarten Assessments, No classes for kindergarten students.

· September 10th~ Kindergarten Assessments continued, No class for 1/2 day kindergarten. Full day classes from 12:15-3:00.

· September 11-13th– Grades 2-5 Benchmark Assessments

· September 20th ~ PTA Meeting 6:00p.m.-7:00p.m.

· September 20th~ Picture Day, more information soon!

· September 21st~ No School-Teacher Planning

· October Count Day~ All students MUST attend school this day in order for us to receive funding for them.

· October ~Parent –Teacher conferences. Sign up at Back to School Night.

· October 24-26~ Fall Break. No School
