Cecile Johnson

As a graduate of the University of Northern Colorado, I have spent all of my 16 years in public education within Denver Public Schools. I have taught primarily first and second grade. This will be my 8th year as a second-grade teacher. I was born in the country of Burkina Faso in West Africa, and have been fortunate to live in the Ivory Coast, France, England, and Peru. Through my upbringing and my travels, I learned to speak English, French, and Spanish, as well as my regional languages, More and Bambara. My husband and I have lived in the Denver area for the last 16 years, where we have raised four wonderful sons. When I am not teaching, I enjoy tennis, cooking, traveling, and spending time with my family and friends.
My passion for learning, my desire to share knowledge, and my belief that our students can instill positive change within our world inspires my teaching each and every day! I look forward to meeting you and to a new and successful year at Maxwell Elementary!
